List of Top Reasons People Use Hypnosis

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

This subject will be open to a lot of debate as different therapists will have different views on the matter. I can only speak from my own experience and hope you find the information useful.

Hypnotherapy is becoming more and more popular and this list I expect to change fully over the next couple of years as we continue to find more and more uses for this wonderful science. However the following list seems to have stood the test of time and if any of them do drop out of the top five im sure they will always be in anyone’ s top ten.

Stop Smoking – Stopping smoking is being publicised everywhere currently and the pressure to stop is huge. This has got to be the most popular reason that people visit a therapist even if they dont want to stop as they believe it is some magical source that will make them stop even if they dont want to. This isnt the case as hypnotherapy is a 100% consensual therapy and if you are not 100% committed to the outcome it will not help.

Lose Weight – Everybody seems to be having plastic surgery today so as with the smoking the pressure on people is immense to lose weight. Hypnotherapy can help here greatly as through hypnotherapy you will delve into eating habits and find out the reasons why you eat what you eat, why you eat it when you eat. Coupled with lots more in depth subconscious work the therapist will help improve your eating habits that will assist in weight loss. Relieve Stress – Stress is another area that can be helped hugely through Hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is state of mind that relies heavily on the client being totally relaxed. Stress relief can usually be helped very quickly with minimal sessions and is usually backed up through the help of audio hypnotherapy whereby the client can take a recording home to use as and when needed.

Building Confidence – This is more of a personal issue and is one that is massively popular but a lot less talked about. Low confidence or self esteem usually stems from something that happened at a younger age. Through Hypnotherapy we can delve into the past and help pin point the exact moment that caused the low self esteem and confidence. Usually when clients are presented with this exact moment and the therapist explains to them that it isnt their fault this can help almost immediately.

Phobias – Nobody likes to even think about their phobia so to take the step to overcome any phobia is a massive step and once the therapist sits you down he or she will explore the reasons why through regression. As with confidence and self esteem we are not born with these phobias. Something has triggered them so by pin pointing the exact moment any phobia can be cured relatively quickly.

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy continues to be extremely successful at helping people with all sorts of issues so is definitely worth exploring even out of curiosity as you will be surprised and just how far this form of therapy reaches.

Hypnosis and Self-Help Tools

Friday, March 5th, 2010

The mind is a fascinating piece of equipment. What you feed it is what it churns out. Our whole body’s functions, reflexes and emotional reactions reflect what our mind recognizes as universal truths. Take faith healing for example, the healer is not more powerful than the person needing healing, but it is the latter believing that the former can indeed heal him or her, or that he or she can truly be healed that possesses the true power to make healing possible. Having that powerful tool sitting on each of our shoulders is indeed nothing short of a miracle.

Of course, there are people whose minds are more powerful (or developed) than others, but all of us have inner strengths that we can tap when the situation calls for it. Now I’m sure your question is, “how do we tap these inner strengths”?

No, you don’t have to constantly put yourself in great danger nor do you have to pound your brain to a pulp to get your inner strength to manifest itself. Simply finding your purpose and focusing on this will allow you to gain or call on your inner strength to help you take control of your life.

Quite a lot of times, people take a long time (think years) to discover their life’s purpose. They just know the end result that they want which is often to feel content and fulfilled in life, but more often than not they don’t really know how to achieve this. The key is to probe into your deepest and innermost thoughts to find out what it is you really want in your life.

Once you find your purpose, that which gives you enormous joy and sense of accomplishment, you can now begin to use self-hypnosis or visualization techniques to bring you to act on your self-development goals.

I know this is easier said than done because sometimes life just throws a lot of curve balls at us. We get distracted and we sometimes miss the forest for the trees. Life is really like that, nothing much you can do but to stay focused and persistent. The good thing is it can be done, although it might take a lot more work for some than others. Still, the prospects are a lot better this way than going through life as if you are wandering through a desert not knowing which way to go.

Using visualization or self hypnosis is a good way to keep you at it. When you have a clear picture in your mind that shows you have achieved what it is you have set your eye on, it is just so much easier to stay motivated because you are giving your mind and body the encouragement and support it needs. And we all know how good it feels to feel supported and encouraged, right?

Another thing about visualizations is that it helps us to draw up a process flow or a map so that we can point our mind in the right direction. Think of it as your compass.

Finding your purpose lets you chart out your goals in accordance to achieving that purpose. When you have your goals written down for you it is so much easier to identify the things you need to do to achieve them, right?

Hypnosis and Deep Relaxation

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Audio hypnosis and deep relaxation is a great treatment for insomnia because it helps you to release stress and stop worrying on an unconscious level. Insomnia is often caused by a stressful job or problematic relationships and it can easily evolve into a really bad cycle that keeps getting worse. Emotional interference such as worrying about problems reduces your ability to relax and ruin your sleeping pattern. In this article you will learn how audio hypnosis and deep relaxation can be used as treatment for insomnia.

Naturally our body knows when it is time to sleep and as we go into the first phase of sleeping there’s a slight drop in our body temperature. When worrying too much, this change in temperature doesn’t happen and therefore we don’t get to that pre-sleep phase that allows us to fall asleep.

When listening to an audio hypnosis session as a treatment for insomnia, you will stop the worrying thoughts that may race through your mind and get into a deep relaxation that allows the body to relax completely. Most hypnosis sessions basically recreates the natural internal conditions that the body typically needs to be able to fall asleep.

Audio hypnosis as a treatment for insomnia typically takes advantage of visualization techniques. Visualization is also a process that happens naturally as we drift off to sleep, but again, if we think too much about problems, we may not even get that natural visualization process started.

If you are consciously aware of that you are worrying, you may be able to stop it without any help and start using visualization techniques all by yourself, but audio hypnosis and deep relaxation will be very helpful and make it easier to get the visualization process started.

Falling asleep is just the first obstacle when you are having sleeping problems. It is equally important to stay asleep and to get high quality sleep so that you can wake up refreshed and full of energy the next morning. Audio hypnosis and deep relaxation as treatment for insomnia is really powerful, since the technique typically emphasizes on recreating the natural internal conditions that happens in your body and it will also help you to sleep well through the night.

The Social Stigma of Smoking

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Many do not realize how smoking affects their physical health as well as their social activities. Think about how often you avoid certain places based on if smoking is permitted. How many times have you had to leave a party setting just to smoke a cigarette?

Quitting smoking can help you to participate in activities you would normally avoid as a smoker. You could have increased self confidence just by quitting the smoking habit.

The chemicals in nicotine are very addictive – once you are addicted you develop the physical craving for the physical and mental effects of nicotine. When you finally are able to quit smoking you are breaking free of the chemical addiction to nicotine.

In the 80’s and 90’s being a smoker was an ‘in’ thing to do with the younger people. Now, it is more ‘in’ to be a non-smoker. Being addiction free is seen in a positive light.

If you are tired of being addicted to cigarettes and want to finally break free of the chains of smoking hypnosis is the answer

It Is Never Too Late to Stop Smoking

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

A recent editorial in the British Medical Journal states that “It is never too late for people to stop [smoking], even when they have lung cancer.” The studies show that preliminary evidence that smoking cessation after diagnosis of early-stage lung cancer improves outcomes and the risk for death is halved in patients who stop smoking. This finding is based on research being done by the UK Center for Tobacco Control Studies and the Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle. Some of the data estimated that, for a type of cancer called early-stage non–small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the five-year survival for 65-year-old patients was 33 percent if they continued to smoke and 70 percent if they stopped smoking.

Critics claim the survival rates “are staggeringly high” and that they appear to be “outlandishly optimistic so the figures need to be taken in their proper context that this is just early-stage lung cancer patients rather than lung cancer patients as a whole. The situation is quite different for patients with advanced disease — and they form the majority of patients diagnosed with lung cancer. Most patients diagnosed with lung cancer are in the last months of their lives and fewer than one in three patients with lung cancer survive even one year.

World Hypnotism Day and the Uses and Benefits of Hypnosis

Monday, January 4th, 2010

World Hypnotism Day is January 4th and was created to promote the incredible benefits of hypnosis.  Hypnotists and Hypnotherapists worldwide will use their gift to bring awareness of the uses and benefits of hypnosis. World Hypnotism Day is a date for education, improvement, and assistance to those who are looking to improve themselves and the quality of their lives.

Hypnosis has many benefits and can improve your quality of life. The many uses and benefits of hypnosis are endless. Some of the most common uses and benefits of hypnosis include:

Smoking Cessation

Stress Relief

Natural healing from injury and illness as adjunct to your current medical care
Weight management
Mental and physical relaxation
Panic and anxiety relief
Increased immune system function

Sports enhancement
Increased energy
Improved logic, reasoning, memory and creativity
Better focus and concentration
Emotional healing from trauma
Improved mood
Behavior modification for undesirable behaviors (including addictions)
Strengthen positive behaviors
Pain management
Gain confidence

Age or Past Life Regression

Another great use and benefit of hypnosis is that it can prepare you for a future event. For example, if you have a public speaking engagement, but you are nervous speaking in front of speaking, hypnosis can help. Your mind will rehearse the event so you are confident that you will speak smoothly and persuasively. On the day of the speaking engagement, you will feel relaxed and assured with the confidence of knowing you will perform at your peak. This is possible because your mind is an amazing, complex machine which does not realize the difference between the rehearsals and the actual event. When the event day arrives, your mind thinks it has been through this exact situation before and does not send out alarm signals. Those alarm signals are what makes us stress, sweat, tremble, and lose mental focus in certain situations.

Hypnosis is not dangerous, and you are not giving up control of yourself by being hypnotized. Hypnosis is a heightened state of relaxation that is best described as daydreaming. You are in another world, but you are still aware of what is happening around you. During hypnosis, you remain conscious and are simply open to suggestion. So if you have a desire to improve your life hypnosis is a wonderful modality to get you on the road to success with your desires.

Hypnosis is a wonderful alternative to dangerous medications and is adjunct to your current medical treatment. World Hypnotism Day offers a great opportunity for you to discover how hypnosis can help you overcome your difficulties in life and attain the success you have always dreamed of with the help of hypnosis.

Sticking To Your New Years Resolutions

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

40 to 45% of American adults make one or more resolutions each year.  “A New Year’s resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other.” ~ Author Unknown

For thousands of years, in many civilizations from the Sumerians to the Romans, people have wanted to start the new year off on the right foot. Symbolically speaking, January 1st is a powerful time to ask important questions about one’s life: if one is happy with the direction it’s going, if one’s health, personal habits, relationships, financial picture, could be improved.
You CAN stick to your New Year’s Resolutions to stop smoking, lose weight, get healthier, stop procrastinating, get out of debt, change habits, obtain more prosperity, reach your goals and more.  Whatever your New Year’s Resolution is, hypnosis can help you be successful with it.

Unfortunately people are not successful with their New Years Resolution because they are trying to change a habit, without changing their beliefs and getting to the core issue of why they were behaving that way to begin with.  Many people are successful with their New Years Resolutions with willpower alone for only days or weeks, but do not create permanent change.  Hypnosis can change that success rate for your New Years Resolution dramatically by reaching the subconscious mind and making permanent positive change in your life.

Among the top new year’s resolutions are resolutions about weight loss, exercise, and stopping to smoke. Also popular are resolutions dealing with better money management / debt reduction.

Top New Year’s Resolutions:

  1. Lose Weight
  2. Manage debt/save money
  3. Get a better job
  4. Spend more time with family
  5. Quit Smoking
  6. Eat right/Get fit
  7. Reduce Stress

Let hypnosis help you make your New Year’s Resolutions into permanent positive change.

New Years Resolution: Become a Non Smoker

The Best Benefits of Becoming a Non Smoker

If you have ever discussed the topic of becoming a non smoker with your doctor I am sure you have heard plenty about the negative impact smoking has on your body. In this article, I will present to you some of the best benefits of becoming a non smoker.

Non Smokers Are Happier People:

Nicotine is an addictive drug classified as a depressant. The reason you feel good after smoking is that depressants relax the central nervous system temporarily. Becoming a non smoker allows you to get off the roller coaster mood swings a depressant class drug can cause when abused. After a detox period, your body’s moods will start to normalize and you will achieve a more stable frame of mind.

Non Smokers Are Healthier People:

As soon as you become a non smoker, you are immediately doing one of the most important things you can do to improve your long-term health. You will experience greatly diminished chances of contracting such diseases as lung & mouth cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and emphysema. Your chances of having a sudden death event such as a heart attack or stroke gradually decrease over a fifteen-year period. Studies show that non smokers have stronger immune systems and are less likely to contract illnesses such as colds, flus, and pneumonia. You can add an average of 13.85 years to your life by quitting smoking.

Non Smokers Are More Attractive People:

Early in the 20th century advertisers pushed advertisements on the populace that glamorized smoking and this could not be further from the truth. Smokers make up less than twenty percent of the adult population in the United States. Statistics show that if you are single and a non smoker your prospects of finding an acceptable long-term companion are greater than if you are a smoker.
